ACORN Push-to-Fit Fittings
Acorn Fitting
Description
The Acorn fitting is designed to make plumbing connections simple, quick and permanent by eliminating the need for soldering, threading, flaring, crimping and the expensive tools these procedures require. The configuration of the components ensures that the push-pipe insertion gives a secure connection. The performance benefits of this fitting make it suitable for complete system installations as well as for quick and reliable repairs. Extensive laboratory tests reveal that when installed and used correctly, the Acorn fitting will outlast the pipes it connects.
In addition to its obvious benefits as a quick and permanent alternative, the Acorn fitting is ideal as a transition fitting designed to join copper-tube- size (CTS) pipe that includes hard copper tube, PEX pipe, CPVC-CTS pipe and PolyB pipe. The design of the fitting is simple in its ingenuity. It consists of a main body with a removable retaining cap. Inside the main body are three separate internal parts that work together to secure the connection an "O" ring, a spacer-washer and a grab ring. Once the pipe is inserted past all three component parts, an effective connection has been made.
The Acorn fitting can also be reused by simply loosening the retaining cap and replacing the internal parts. The Acorn fitting selection offers most of the common fittings including male and female adapters and all are CSA and NSF certified and pressure rated to 236 psi @ 68°F.
